We are delighted to announce that the work of our founder, Jill Furmanovsky is currently being displayed at the Street Level Photoworks Gallery in Glasgow.
‘Rebels & Renegades’ is a two-part exhibition that features the outstanding work of Jill and her contemporary Sheila Rock, two pioneering photographers who captured the zeitgeist of punk, the post-punk era and the ‘80s merging of music and fashion. It celebrates those artists who challenged boundaries, redefined the status quo and changed the face of music forever - during this period and beyond
‘Rebel & Renegades’ is the first time Jill Furmanovsky has showcased her work in Glasgow since her acclaimed ‘Was There Then’ Oasis photography exhibition which was held at the Tramway in 1997. This new exhibition features images of punk icons Iggy Pop, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Ramones and Buzzcocks, post-punk bands such as Joy Division and The Cure, plus ‘80s legends Madness, Grace Jones, Morrissey and Pete Burns. Also included are more recent shots of Amy Winehouse, Sinead O’Connor and fittingly Oasis.
The ’Rebels & Renegades’ exhibition is taking place at the Street Level Gallery in Glasgow from 16 November 2024 - 23rd February 2025.
