Jill Furmanovsky Collection

Rockarchive founder, Jill Furmanovsky has been photographing the world's greatest music artists for over 40 years. Her huge, impressive achive includes iconic shots of Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Blondie, The Police, Led Zeppelin, The Pretenders, Bob Dylan, Oasis plus many more. She has also directed videos for Oasis and The Pretenders.

Born in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) Jill moved to London in 1965 when she was 11 years old. She soon established a love of rock music and she became a member of the Beatles fan-club. Her first rock shot was of Paul McCartney standing outside his house with two of her school friends taken on a Kodak Instamatic.

In 1972, after taking a brief course in photography, Jill became the official photographer at the legendary Rainbow Theatre; London's leading music venue where all the big acts performed. So her career as a rock photographer began. Jill is still shooting many top artists today and works closely with Abbey Road Studios.
