Blues guitarist and singer-songwriter B.B. King photographed by Luciano Viti in Rome in 1997.

Luciano Viti recalls, "I managed to get into the good graces of Sid Seidenberg, manager of B.B. King and so, whenever he played in Rome, I was welcomed into their entourage. I photographed the bluesman in various moments and situations and every time I was surprised by his courtesy and availability.

I recall in December 1997, after having photographed him in his hotel suite, while he was preparing to go to the audience for the Pope, with a clumsy gesture I spilled a glass of water on him. He was already late and I went red and purple with embarrassment. I apologised, but he turned to me with great tranquility "Don't worry, luckily I have another pair of pants and don't worry, the Pope will wait for me, he knows I'll bring him my guitar as a gift!".
