How does a small boy from Tunbridge Wells who loves David Bowie become a world class photographer who flies around the world photographing the biggest bands of the day?
Pat always loved music and played in bands as a teenager. But he also loved cameras and eventually his career took a different route. Going to London to study photography at London College of Communication (now part of UAL) at Elephant & Castle he emerged in the early nineties just as a new generation of bands and artists was breaking through.
Pat quickly became a high-profile photographer documenting the early careers of some of the biggest bands of the era. He captured many key moments and often became friends with them - living and working in the heart of Camden throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
His work featured heavily in Melody Maker, NME, Kerrang, Q and just about every other glossy magazine of the period who wanted to feature the growing British music scene.
Eventually he got his teenage wish to photograph his hero David Bowie.
We are delighted to be able to offer a curated collection of Pat Pope limited edition prints including images of David Bowie, Oasis, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Morrissey and many more.
