A limited edition colour print of Pulp's frontman Jarvis Cocker eating chips from newspaper.

Pulp photographer Pat Pope

Catalogue No: PULP002PAPO Artist(s): Pulp Location: UK Date: 1995 Era: The 1990's Edition: Pat Pope Edition Print type: Giclée Print Paper type: Archival Hahnemühle Photo Rag

Limited edition print of Jarvis Cocker from Pulp by photographer Pat Pope. The image was taken during a cover and feature shoot for Melody Maker in early 1995.

The photos by Pat were used for the 27 May 1995 edition of the magazine and accompanied by an article by Paul Lester. Paul wrote "From the late Seventies right up to the early Nineties, Sheffield's Pulp were critical faves whose bizarre sex-obsessed space-pop eluded commercial success. Then in 1994, their His 'n' Hers LP sold 100,000 copies, went Top 10 and almost won the Mercury Prize. Meanwhile, frontman Jarvis Cocker became Britain's unlikeliest sex symbol and all-round multi-media pundit. With their fantastic new single 'Common People' released this week, we meet the brilliant Pulp as they prepare to ascend to the next level of fame and acclaim."

This Jarvis Cocker, Pulp print by Pat Pope is numbered, signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is available in the following edition sizes:

  • Print type

At Rockarchive we carefully select the best print-type to optimise each individual photograph. We have chosen to print this image as a giclée fine art print produced in our London studio.

A giclée print is the most popular way of producing great quality collectable prints in the digital age. It is produced is by scanning an original negative. The image is then outputed onto the chosen paper using specialist inks to make a beautiful archival print.

    Paper type

Photo Rag is the most popular paper chosen by photographers to create high quality fine art prints. The fine, smooth surface and feel of Photo Rag make this paper very versatile and it is ideal for printing both black and white and colour photographs and art reproductions with impressive pictorial depth.
