Sheila Rock photographed this iconic image of Siouxsie Sioux for the Face Magazine in February 1982.

“Launched by NME editor an Smash Hits creator Nick Logan in 1980, The Face was the world’s first magazine to investigate youth culture beyond music. A strong voice of British urban identity in the age of Thatcher, it rapidly became the first lifestyle publication and the global benchmark for journalism concerning trends in music, fashion, film, media, politics and social issues.”. - Paul Gorman, The story of The Face

Photographer Sheila Rock recalls, “I photographed Siouxsie for the Face Magazine. Johnsons on the Kings Road SW3 had designed a collection of Japanese printed clothes and her exotic look inspired the idea; her makeup reminded me of the Kabuki actors and this inspired the marriage of the clothes with the stylised makeup. I put these elements together. Siouxsie is unquestionably photogenic and striking.”

This print is from a limited edition of 100. It is numbered, signed by Sheila Rock and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
