Jill Furmanovsky recalls, "this portrait was taken after a show in the legendary folk club, Bungees, by the light of a single bulb, on a Leica M3. It was the first time I had seen Jeff play and I was gob-smacked. The sheer musicality, virtuosity and soulfulness of this divine young man brought tears to my eyes. The tulip was one of a bunch given to him by an appreciative fan."

  • Print type

A lith print is created using a photographic printing process that uses standard black-and-white photographic paper with lithographic developer (often heavily diluted standard developer) to produce a print with dark shadows and soft, bright highlights.

The effect has been described as 'creamy highlights and hard shadows an appearance not unlike a charcoal drawing'. Tones, colors, and subtle hues different from standard black-and-white print can be achieved.

    Paper type

Ilford Warmtone Fibre Based paper is specifically designed for the creative printer wanting the ultimate in quality, with warm image colour and a high response to toning techniques. It is a premium quality, variable contrast, black and white photographic paper, coated onto a 255g/m2 fibre base.

This product will, quite simply, deliver a final quality print unlike anything else you can use in the darkroom, which is why it is so extensively used around the world for exhibition printing. It consistently produces the superior quality expected from an ILFORD photographic paper, and it’s versatility and response to darkroom techniques never fails to please.

If you live in London we can arrange to get your print framed for you. Once the print is framed you can either collect it from our London Rockarchive Studio, in Kentish Town or we can arrange for it to be delivered to your London address (at an extra charge).
