White Stripes captured during their photo shoot for Mojo Magazine in Camden, London in May 2002
Kevin Westenberg recalls, "This was the bands first major U.K. monthly cover shoot so spirits were sky high. MOJO’s spectacular art director, Mark Wagstaff scouted an incredible empty garage right in the middle of Camden Town which couldn’t have worked out better. The colour of this brake testing machine, that was totally broken down, had the same exact ‘white stripes red’ colour as Jack and Meg were wearing during those days. Incredible luck. Lovely people! Although this shot wasn’t the cover shot, it ended up later to be one of my favourites of the session. It was sadly my one and only time photographing them. Would have loved to had another go at them. Happy Days."
