David Corio recalls 'The photo of U2 (Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jnr.) was taken on the roof of the Country Club Hotel ( now Montenotte Hotel - they have a selection of the images in their lobby) in Cork, Ireland on a cold February morning in 1980. This was my first job 'abroad' for the NME and I had never heard of U2. They did not yet have a record deal and this was one of their first interviews with a music paper. I went on tour with them from Cork through some small towns to Dublin. They played youth clubs and at some of the dates they supported a band that played the top 40 hits. You could tell even back then that they had something special about them though even if there were only a few dozen people watching them. This photo was used on the cover of their book 'U2 By U2' and also on their Greatest Hits CD/DVD called 'U218'.'

A Giclee print is the most common way of producing collectable prints in the digital age. It is produced is by scanning an original negative or optimising a digital file. The image is then out-putted on various mediums using archival inks. Fine quality coated papers are used to make delicate, beautiful archival prints.
Archival 310gsm cotton based rag papers have lead the way in meeting the needs of professional fine art printers. Photographers and print-makers alike can rely on these new papers to produce the highest quality images they have come to know and love.
With no optical brighteners and the longevity, image stability and a clean matt surface required for the very best in fine art printing, Smooth Cotton Rag is offered as the perfect choice for crisp detail, while the Textured Cotton range features a contoured surface for enhanced creative expression.
