Nick Cave captured during a Mojo photo shoot in December 1998
Kevin Westenberg recalls, "Shot as part of a large Mojo cover feature to help promote the album; ‘Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!’ Cave lives in Brighton so it was a natural fit to go there. Full van of lights, assistants and the whole 9 yards! This had to be the penultimate shoot and after much toing and frooooing with the decision-making and negotiations, we got permission to shoot inside the Brighton Royal Pavilion. Perfect! 5 hours of set-up and prepping paid off, as I know from previous shoots with the man, he likes it to move fast. So we were ready and shot 5-6 different locations within the pavilion in just over an hour. The suits were immaculate, the shirt was striped avocado! The socks were peach! The ‘stash was pure November in December! A great satisfying day! Forever grateful".
