David Bowie and Mick Ronson eating lunch on a train to Aberdeen in 1973.
Mick Rock recalls 'Taken on the train up to Aberdeen for the first gig of David’s final Ziggy tour, 15 May 1973. Another image that got lost in the archive until it finally surfaced in Moonage Daydream. I have a slew of photos on the train and in the stations of David in that amazing jacket. But the favorite one for fans is this one. Of all my limited edition fine art prints, this may be the one that has sold the most. Maybe it’s got something to do with the ridiculously ‘glam’ look of the magic duo and the obviously mundane nature of their British Rail lunch – lamb chops, boiled potatoes, peas with the bread rolls and pats of butter. But also perhaps something to do with the warm conspiratorial way they are looking at each other. They had the rock scene by the horns and they were savoring it!'

A great print deserves a great frame. At Rockarchive we would be delighted to advise you on how best to select the right frame for your print. Please just let us know when you place your order or contact us once you have received your print and we will discuss the various options with you.
If you live in London we can arrange to get your print framed for you. Once the print is framed you can either collect it from our London Rockarchive Studio, in Kentish Town or we can arrange for it to be delivered to your London address (at an extra charge).
If you live elsewhere in the UK, we can arrange to get smaller sized prints framed and shipped to you. However due to postage regulations acrylic (eg perspex) rather than glass needs to be used in the frame.
If you live outside of the UK, we are sorry we are unable to ship framed prints to you.
