Debby Harry from Blondie taken in January 1978 while she was in Amsterdam for a concert at the Paradiso
Barry Schultz recalls, "This photo of Debbie Harry from Blondie was taken in January 1978 while. Journalists & photographers invited by the record company were hoping to get to meet Debbie at the American Hotel across the street where she was suppossed to do press. After waiting a long time we were told that she was sick. As I was leaving the hotel I noticed a blonde girl at the reception desk asking for directions to a pharmacy, and I offered her a ride in my car, hoping that it was Debbie Harry. I wasn't completely sure it was her. She asked if she could bring a friend along as well. I had Debbie Harry and Chris Stein in the back of my car! I didn't tell them I was a photographer, because she was sick, but it paid off in the end. That night I photographed them in the Paradiso. The next year I went backstage when they were playing in L.A. and Debbie siad, "Look Chris, it's our taxi driver from Amsterdam!" She allowed me backstage to take some photos".
