David Ellis

David's work is fresh, challenging and diverse. His innovative use of lighting and conceptual approach to composition has seen him establish a unique style across all genres. His photographs are distinguished by an originality that has propelled him into a high-profile arena at a young age.

While studying in Brighton he started photographing musicians, this passion stemmed from an early love and eclectic taste of music. Alongside his love of music, David holds great admiration for many music photographers that came before him, many of which are a part of 'Rockarchive.com'

"Photography is what I do, I can't imagine myself doing anything else. I would love to express myself through music but have no ability whatsoever"

His passion has taken him around the world and has lead to working for NME, Q, Rolling Stone, Times magazine, Observer Music Monthly. David has created some of the most memorable portraits and I am sure this will continue for many years to come. Artists David has photographed include; Justin Timberlake, Tim burgess, R.E.M, Tony Bennett, Outcast, My Chemical Romance, Fatboy Slim, Mary J. Blige, The Chemical Brothers, Robert Plant, Nick Cave, The Flaming Lips, Alexander O'Neil, Meatloaf, Robert Palmer, The Libertines and Brian Ferry.

David Ellis is now one of the UK’s most respected cross-genre photographers with a diverse portfolio that spans both advertising and editorial. He is a photographer and filmmaker of choice for some of the most iconic brands and magazines in the world.
