Offspring

The Offspring are an American punk rock band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dexter Holland, bassist Greg K., lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and drummer Pete Parada.

The Offspring went through several lineup changes over the years, and Holland and Greg K. have been the only constant members. The band is often credited—alongside fellow California punk bands Green Day and Rancid—for reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the 1990s. They have sold over 40 million records worldwide, being considered one of the best-selling punk rock bands of all time.

The Offspring has been labeled under multiple genres, such as punk rock, pop punk, skate punk, and alternative rock. A signature style of the Offspring are their chorused "whoas", "heys", or "yeahs". NOFX (who were labelmates with the Offspring from the early to mid-1990s) poked fun at them for this in their song "Whoa on the Whoas".

The band have now put out 8 records, performed over 1000 shows across the globe and are known for their many hits including "Self Esteem," "Come Out And Play (Keep 'Em Separated)," "The Kids Aren't Alright," "Hammerhead" and "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid."
