Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran (Edward Christopher) is a British singer-songwriter born on 17 February 1991 in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk. He attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey from the age of 18. In early 2011 he caught the attention of Elton John and Jamie Foxx and his popularity increased when he made a guest appearance on Taylor Swift's fourth studio album, Red.

After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (Plus) was released on 9 September 2011 and achived platinum success several times over in the UK. The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

Ed Sheeran is the leading light in current popular music achieving unprecedeted success with his latest album ÷ (Divide). Singles from the album simultaneously held nine of the top ten positions in the UK singles chart.
