For fifteen years Jorgen Angel was a music industry photographer taking images for numerous magazines, album covers, books and other media. His fantastic body of work contains iconic photographs of the world's greatest bands including Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Queen & Led Zeppelin.
Jorgen was born on the outskirts of Copenhagen and took his first rock photos at the age of 14 when he attended a press conference for Sonny & Cher.
As a schoolboy, he regularly started to take photographs of live gigs and in 1968 was fortunate enough to capture the very first performance of Led Zeppelin in Denmark.
Being a schoolboy was a bonus - how was he supposed to know that he shouldn’t just walk into Eric Clapton’s dressing room and ask to take a picture.
Throughout his career, he developed friendships with many artists and his work took him to obscure striptease shows with Alice Cooper, the private homes of bands like The Who & Roxy Music or out into the countryside with Arthur Brown.
Jorgen left the music photography business midway through the 1980s music era.
