Jill Furmanovsky with her Amateur Photographer 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award

We are delighted to announce that our wonderful founder Jill Furmanovsky has become the recent recipient of Amateur Photographer Magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award has been bestowed on Jill in recognition of her extraordinary 50-year career as a leading music photographer working with artists such as Oasis, Pink Floyd, The Police, Joy Division, Amy Winehouse and Bob Marley.

Amateur Photographer is the world’s oldest photography magazine, established in 1884 and releasing a weekly issue ever since. It is the respected authority for news and reviews, with detailed tests and investigations on the latest equipment. Their awards started in 1977 as the Camera of the Year awards, and have become the UK’s biggest celebration of the best kit and finest photography as well as recognising community groups, exhibitions, photographers, and retailers.

This year’s 47th Amateur Photographer awards took place at Under Globe, London in February. The Lifetime Achievement Award was sponsored by CVP.

On receiving the award Jill said, “Last week I was honoured by Amateur Photography Magazine with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The classic publication, which began in 1884, is revered by professionals and so called amateurs alike. What we have in common is that we all love taking pictures!”
