Catalogue No: SR001SMITH Artist(s): Stone Roses Location: Belgium Date: 1989 Era: The 1980's Edition: One Off Print Print type: Archival Digital Print Paper type: Archival 310gsm cotton based rag paper

A rarely available print of the Stone Roses by world renowned music photographer Pennie Smith.

We are delighted that Pennie has agreed we can sell this exclusive print to support our crowdfunding campaign to keep our 'There is a Light That Never Goes Out' exhibition on permanent display at The University of Manchester. The exhibition, that includes this image, celebrates Manchester's extraordinary rock music history and we are raising funds so it can remain in the City, where it belongs, to inspire current and future generations.

The photograph was taken by Pennie whilst the Stone Roses were on tour in Belgium in the Autumn of 1989, a few months after the release of their remarkable debut album 'The Stone Roses'. The image features all the band members Ian Brown, Mani (Gary Mountfield), John Squire & Reni (Alan Wren). This photograph is so iconic it forms part of National Portrait Gallery Collection.

This A1 print (59.4cm x 84.1cm) was created especially for this crowdfunder campaign, is signed by Pennie and accompanied with a certificate of authenticity. It can be purchased via our crowdfunding page . Please contact us if you require further details.
