My friends’ band The Datsuns were supporting so to photograph both these bands on the... read more same bill made it a very special night. That night I was, in technical terms ‘on fire’. I think I took probably the best photo that sums up the term ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ during The Datsuns set, and then this photo of my idol Slash, which has been quoted as one of the most unique original live photos of Slash. I like them both. This night was probably in the top three of career highs for me. I was concentrating on Slash as that was the photo I wanted most. It was during the third song and the other photographers were concentrating on Scott the singer, making sure they had that perfect magazine image, I had my photo of Scott already. Slash walked to the front of the stage on the far right, it was just me, Slash, and the 5000 fans behind me.
