    Seeing The Special AKA’s first London gig in July 1978, opening for The Clash on their “On Parole UK Tour”, I became a fan of both their music and boundless on-stage energy. A year later they were headliners, and a packed house of rude boys and girls bouncing on the sprung dance floor of The Palais made it difficult to hold a camera steady.
