To my best recollection we traveled to Bristol on the bands tour bus, Chrissie Hynde had a new born child and a nanny with her so all was out of bounds for photos and the feature, so the trip was spent... read more talking about the band's new ex USAF nomex flame retardent jackets which Dave Hills the Manager had aquired. I normally like to work quickly on a shoot and it was very cold, so the band seemed to be happy to get things over sharpish. I shot two rolls of black and white around a church we had found, all outside, through fences, some silhouettes, but this was one of the first shots as we left the tour bus to walk down to the chosen location. The gig at The Colston Hall produced some interesting live shot which ended up being used in the Bands next tour programme.

I had just bought “Stop Your Sobbing” from Honky Tonk Records in Kentish Town. This was the band’s fourth London gig, and I’d already been to the previous three. Guess... read more you could call me a groupie! There probably weren’t even a hundred people there.

With the Marquee packed to capacity this was never going to be an easy gig to photograph. Shooting from amongst the audience I managed to capture a number of pictures before my camera was covered in beer.... read more
