The young band were a bit bemused by the size of the gig and the international interest. REM (Peter Buck, Michael Stipe, Mike Mills and Bill Berry) were real nice guys and I had fun with the bass player and drummer particularly. My journo was felling very ill as he had run out of his "medication" so I was carrying some dead weight and the return trip was going to be tough! Oh I think this was the first British shoot and interview with the young REM.
