A limited edition print of Elastica taken by photographer Martyn Goodacre at Glastonbury Festival in 1998.
This atmospheric portrait captures frontwoman Justine Frischmann in the festival's backstage enclosure, with the tents, crowds and distinctive Glastonbury landscape visible behind her. Goodacre recalled the circumstances behind the photograph: “I’d already met Justine a few times when I spotted her walking across Glastonbury’s backstage enclosure and asked to take her picture. She didn’t remember me – another for the list – and instead requested my credentials. When I told her ‘I’m the NME’, she tossed back her head. That was all I needed.”
The resulting portrait has an effortless, spontaneous quality, capturing Frischmann in a moment that feels both relaxed and self-assured. Taken in 1998, it documents Elastica during a period when the band had already established themselves as one of the defining British groups of the decade.
This print is from an edition of 100. It is numbered, signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
