  • “When I look at this picture, I don’t hear the crowds roar or find myself standing back on the stage. All I remember is the nightmare of trying to walk to the front without tripping over the cables and making a cunt of myself! After the show I was trying to take it all in, watching everybody go, and it was a weird thing because the lights were all on and it was dark outside it looked like a big front-room, except there were 2,000 people in it. Maine Road was where we all used to go as kids. So I was standing there, trying to make sure I never forgot this moment.” - Noel Gallagher.

  • Oasis were supporting U2 in America. This picture was taken while Noel was singing ’Don’t Look Back In Anger’. Liam was watching him intently from the side of the stage and I was shooting pictures of him. Suddenly Bono loomed into view on the right and I quickly swopped focus from left to right. I was using a Nikon F5 and an 85mm lens. I think this is one of the best live images I've ever taken.

This classic image is part of Jill Furmanovsky's founding collection for Rockarchive, Edition 30/30/30' .
