Glastonbury Photo-competition

27/07/2009
Taking pictures at Glastonbury is irresistible to any visually aware person. Superb photo opportunities abound not only for professionals with access and expensive equipment, but also for amateurs and photo enthusiasts. Many of the pictures shown here were taken at Glastonbury 2008 on semi-professional equipment such as the Olympus E420 and the Canon Ixus. Many mobile phones have mega-pixel capabilities and you can still get excellent throw-away film cameras. In a nutshell, if you are going to Glastonbury 2009 there really is no excuse come rain or shine, not to take superb images.

To celebrate the longevity and inspiration of Glastonbury, Rockarchive will give two awards this year to the best images taken at this year's Glastonbury 2009.

Prizes up for grabs:

1st. Olympus Camera (model to be announced in the next newsletter)
2nd. An original A3 fine art print of Joe Strummer hanging out backstage at Glastonbury 1993 by Jill Furmanovsky
3rd. A copy of The Moment - 25 years of Rock Photography by Jill (almost out of print)

Submit no more than 3 images per person showing the Glastonbury festival though your own eyes (no bigger than 1mb jpeg each) plus a short caption, your name, email and phone number to glastonbury@rockarchive.com. Competition ends 30th August 2009.

To inspire you here are some images taken over the years at the incomparable Glastonbury Festival.
