I am a photographer/video maker. Trained in fine art and photography. I have been working with musicians and bands since 1991 but also do fashion and fine art work. My most well known work is with PJ Harvey – as well as producing her photographs and videos I’ve been closely involved in her styling over the course of her career.
My photography has been described as ‘lo-fi but with a hard fine art edge.’ I use 35mm cameras and funny plastic cameras that are a bit hit and miss. I don’t use digital and it is not an instant process. I love to make the process of photographing people playful and collaborative.
As a video director I have plenty of experience of working with a large team of people and shooting on film, but I also shoot digital video myself. As well as many pop videos I recently made a 50 minute music documentary ‘Sno Angel Winging It’ for Howe Gelb and Voices of Praise Gospel Choir.
I am currently working on an enormous collage project based on a 20 year accumulation of magazines and newspapers.
