Letta was part of the same South African scene in New York as Hugh Masekela. Both had gone there originally as members of the cast of the hit Broadway musical “King Kong” which was a showcase... read more for African performers. Recently I was in Cape Town and asked after her. She was back in South Africa but unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to hear her wonderful voice again.
