I had the good fortune to be present the first time Led Zeppelin (The New Yardbirds at the time) performed before an audience. This took place at Gladsaxe Teen Club in a school hall in the outskirts of... read more Copenhagen. Six months later they came back to the same humble "concert hall", as Led Zeppelin. As a schoolboy I had a volunteer job as photographer for the small in-house magazine so I could go where I wanted, including the dressing room in the basement. As a schoolboy shooting with his mother’s holiday camera I looked nothing like a pro, but being a nice man, Robert Plant was willing to give the kid a chance for some good shots. Recently when I met him again he asked for a print of this image. He also signed a print for me with the words: "It was only yesterday!"

Terry’s notes: "This was shot on Robert Plant's 300 acre estate on the isolated west coast of Wales. He did not want the exact location disclosed. It was hilly, thick woods and steep ravines.... read more It poured with rain most of the time we were there. Robert told me he gets much of his inspiration for writing from walking in the woods. "This place is an undistorted mirror to me."
