  • Humble Pie's first major gig in the UK after touring America. This is the way I like to remember Stevie-with a grin on his face.
 
Shortly before his sad death in April 1991, I was, as usual, at the Half Moon in Putney when Stevie played there for the last time. Also as usual we had a drink after the gig. We left the pub at about 10 o'clock and as he was getting in to the Jag for his wife Toni to drive him home, I told him it had been a great night. He turned round and with the same grin said, "ta mate." That was the last time I saw him.

They were support band for Grand Funk Railroad. Pete first came to fame in 'The Herd' with several hits in 1967-68. In 1969 he formed Humble Pie with Stevie Marriott. After leaving Pie, he recorded 'The Frampton Comes Alive' album in 1976. It sold over 16 million copies worldwide.
