Horace Silver created “hard bop”, rhythmically forceful jazz combined with rhythm-and-blues and gospel. I could never identify his playing on record as he liked to quote other musicians in... read more his playing (I still can’t tell when it’s him!). In performance it was a different story. He always had wonderful changing facial expressions that were great for me as a photographer, and inspired this triptych.
