The lighting came from a bedside lamp and Annie did her own make-up.... read more It was just the two of us. Those kind of shoots were common in the days of the music press, and I am forever grateful for having learned to shoot quickly and imaginatively in every situation.

I used to work with Eurythmics all the time, mostly on video shoots (in the Sweet Dreams video, Dave can be seen fiddling with my Minolta light meter while he’s sitting in the field with the cows).... read more This particular session was shot for No.1 Magazine (long since extinct) on a Eurythmics press day: they’d been doing interviews all day, and when I started shooting, Annie was tired and grumpy because she hadn’t eaten. I suggested that her assistant get her a sandwich, while I took pics of Dave. After Annie had eaten, she came back looking radiant, relaxed and beautiful, and I got some gorgeous images.
