Rebels & Renegades Exhibition: Stirling Photography Festival

We are delighted to announce that Rebels and Renegades, an exhibition of photographs by Rockarchive founder Jill Furmanovsky, is now showing at the Tolbooth Gallery s part of the Stirling Photography Festival.

Curated by Rockarchive in association with Street Level Photoworks, the exhibition brings together some of Jill’s most striking photographs from across her extraordinary career. From punk and post-punk to new wave, ska and beyond, Rebels and Renegades celebrates the artists who challenged conventions, changed the face of music and created some of its most unforgettable moments.

The exhibition features an incredible range of artists, including The Clash, Bob Marley, The Ramones, Blondie, Joy Division, Madness and The Slits, alongside portraits of Iggy Pop, Grace Jones, Kate Bush, Patti Smith, Amy Winehouse and many more.

Jill’s career in music photography began in 1974 and has taken her from the worlds of punk and new wave through to Britpop and beyond. Her long and celebrated relationship with Oasis is also represented in the exhibition, alongside photographs spanning more than five decades at the heart of music and popular culture.

Rebels and Renegades offers a rare opportunity to see photographs from one of the world’s most important music photography archives, capturing the energy, attitude and individuality of the artists who refused to follow the rules.

The exhibition is part of the Season of Photography 2026, a nationwide celebration of photography taking place across Scotland.
