Al was playing with McCoy Tyner on this gig. I really don't know why but I still imagine that drummers – especially icons like Al have their kit set up for them. But it's such a personal thing... read more I guess the only way to have all the heights, angles and exact placement of percussion is for the musician to do it. I was very lucky with the light - just enough from the spots overhead to bounce off the snare onto Al's face.
